Donald Trump tells Syrian refugees ‘they are going back’ if he becomes president

American presidential candidate Donald Trump is continuing to spout populist policies as he tells Syrian refugees that if he takes the White House “they are going back” to the Middle East.

Speaking at a rally in New Hampshire the Trumpster claimed that the United States had “totally wiped out Iraq” and “totally destabilised the Middle East”, but went on the say that he would send back any people fleeing Syria as the country’s civil war rages on.

Earlier this month the American president Barack Obama said that in the next fiscal year the United States would take in 10,000 Syrian refugees, half the amount that Britain is planning on taking in over the next five years.

Trump later told CNN that he would expel these refugees, saying:

“We have no idea who they are. We have no idea where they come from. And I’m just telling you right now, they may come in, through the weakness of Obama, but they’re going out if I become president. They will not stay here. They are going back to Syria, whether it’s safe zones or whatever.”

Where these alleged safe zones can be found must be something that Trump picked up on during his extensive foreign policy research, which he once said consists of watching pundits on the idiot box.
