Britain’s dispiritingly analogue democracy, Sadiq Khan’s rebuttal to Donald Trump’s travel ban on Muslims, and Queen Liz berating “rude” Chinese officials are the three topics this week.
Joining your regular hosts are Antonio Weiss, a Labour councillor, and Gabriel Huntley, a former advisor to Labour’s Chuka Umunna, who together penned a piece for Prospect discussing online voting, crowdsourcing policy and open data – our first topic.
Next we look at London’s new mayor Sadiq Khan, who rejected an offer from presumptive US presidential candidate Donald Trump to be exempt from his Muslim travel ban. Apparently, it’s just a “suggestion”.
Rounding things off we return to Britain’s Queenie, who described Chinese officials as “rude” in private remarks widely publicised by the media, at least in the UK. Is this fair?
